When hot the engine cuts out. After 5 or 6 hours on the road car begins have engine surges and coughs. Had scanned this am, mechanic could not find anything wrong. Drove 5 hours did it again. HELP, I am 3 days away from home in Minn. It is at another Chevy dealer. Thanks.
Are you running on the same tank of gas after 5 or 6 hours? If so, then you may want to have your tank at least a 1/4 full at all times. Maybe something with the fuel delivery system.

engine temp 195 steady,no info shown on DIC to give a hint.Think may have something to do with throttlebody sensor or mayby oxygen sensor causing computer to try to compensate.
Only time I've had an LS engine cut out is due to either a loose spark plug wire (you really have to push down hard until it clicks) or a dirty MAF. You can clean the MAF with maf cleaner or electrical cleaner.

Might want to look at the fuel pump too. Could be having an issue where its getting too hot and shutting down, or an ignition/coil problem.
I would say maf maybe too. I can really cause your car to do weird things. Start there as its an easy fix. I dont think heat is a problem since his temp is only 195 which is actually a little low for prolonged highway driving.
