Just got mine installed today by Jim Pierce in Torrance, CA. He finished the job on time, which was surprising since he had to do many of the measurements from scratch. It's a removable hoop and I took enough pictures of the install that should show just how it is attached.
Here are a few pictures for now. I'll post the rest when they're finished uploading:
Please tell me how this set up passes tec at a drag strip or track? The best I can tell is you might be able to get by some tec and beat the 13.5 mark. I see you are S.C also I ran 11.7 at vette magic in Sacramento. The fastest time I could run in a vert was 11.49 at this special event. The other tracks in my area won't let me run below 13.5 without an approved roll bar. Has your system passed any tec at any tracks yet? There was another post of a guy on the east coast who had a similar set up except his cross bar went behind the waterfall and had no cross bracing. But gave you a bit more room to move your seat back.
Yeah, more pictures on just how it is all attached... does it go down to the frame?
And what is that small connector it is welded to in the top right picture?

Please.... much more info (and pix).
Thanks
Thanks for the comments. Updated the thread with pics. I just wrote a long message explaining how it's put together but hit the back browser button on accident and lost the entire thing. Too tired now to retype so I'll do it another day. Basically it explains how it was put together with 4 contact points, that two of the contact points are attached to a base plate that's attached to the frame, and that it's removable. Hopefully the pictures give you an idea of how it's put together, though you really have to see this in person to appreciate how well this was put toether.

Yes it is. Currently under renovation... we'll move in early July.
That looks good. I assume that the top does not work with the bar installed.....Can you throw the removable part of the bar in the trunk and then install it when you get to the track? how long does it take to install the removable section? Also roughly how much did the install cost? I am local and in need of a similar installation.

I don't know how tough the Tec inspections are at your local track...But, a few years ago when I ran my C5 convertible, I took a piece of PVC electrical conduet and heated it up and bent it into the shape of a roll bar hoop, and painted it flat black. I had to have the seats all the way back and the top was held in place by parts of the roof. I always had to have my seat fully back untill I got into the water boxes and then I could move it forward. The inspectors would walk up to the car and reach in and give it a shake to make sure it was solid...that was the extent of the inspection.
Now I don't recommend doing this...as it provides absolutly NO protection. But, at the time I figured my basically stock ( LT headers, intake, computer reprogram) 13 second car was stable enough to make it down the 1320.
