Default Texas Speed Headers Results: Before/After

Installed my new Texas Speed 1 7/8 headers with offroad X-pipe the other day. Very pleased with the results. Vehicle is a 2006 M6 non-Z51 with a vararam + spacer. Tune was done after the install so results are really headers+tune.

Before: 341 rwhp/ 341 rwtq
After: 380 rwhp/ 381 rwtq

This was done on a conservative dyno with 100+ degree outside temperatures.

Very smooth powercurve with gains across the board.
Thanks Texas Speed for an affordable and quality product.

Ill get the dyno posted in the next day or two. Fitment is good. They come close to the first passenger side plug wire, but no issues. I have the stock exhaust on the car and I must say it is the most quiet header car I have ever been in. Friends/ family wouldnt even have noticed the switch at idle if i didnt tell them first. At WOT it merely sounds like a mild exhaust set-up. Very happy with the perfomance, especially considering the minimal increase in exhaust volume. This is my dd so it works great. I have other very loud and cantankerous cars for when I am in the mood for that experience.

I've been planning on getting these for a little while, I am actually disappointed to hear they don't really boost the exhaust sound. Just shorty headers and catless midpipes made my GTO a monster so I was hoping to have the same with these. The fact that they are coated alone make them a great purchase. 39hp/40tq is a great increase and for that price is just incrediblle!!

The stock exhaust really keeps things quiet man. I have a 402 stroker motor with kooks headers, high flow cats electric cutouts and stock mufflers. With the cutouts open its loud as hell but with them closed it sounds like a stocker with a hint of lope from the cam. Put an aftermarket muffler set up on there or electric cutouts and youll be blown away.

Putting them on with stock mufflers will keep them quiet.

Put them on with an aftermarket system and things will change

I actually decided I will just mod/drill the stock mufflers(from another thread). It is ridiculous that you can pay $100's less for headers with catless x-pipe than axle-backs. Hell there are axle-backs that will run more than these installed! Quite the price we pay for sound.

I had the Magnaflow 14336 weld in mufflers put on mine, and it sounds great...not too loud, not to quiet. And for about $200 installed, Its a great deal.

Im so glad to see someone finally offering some headers for these cars that are reasonably priced. The world of $1500 headers is ...Way to go Texas Speed!

Well if they had cats the price would be around 1k so they arent THAT cheap.

I have to chime in that I had the 14336 and liked them, until I put on headers, then they droned like crazy, I hated them and had to sell them.

But $500 is a still pretty good savings in my book! (33%)

And Joe, I have the Z06 manifolds cats and hpipe (3 in) with the magnaflows and I do have a little drone (key word little) , but I like to hear the car... I really like the sound.. Im just throwing it out there as another option instead of spending a ton of money on a over axle system. many have the magnaflows and many like them...heck, this is the 2nd C6 I have owned with them!!

Im just really glad to see headers coming down. I have been saying this for years!

^^^ Amen to that!!

I can buy headers for my 71 Olds for $200....top shelf Hooker Super comps are like $350 last I checked. We are just getting reamed it seems with our Vette mods.

Heck I got a deal on a rear for $1800 and had to pay 2500 or more for a rebuilt trans!

I am seriously thinking I'm going to have to stop racing the Vette and start racing my old car...the parts are so much cheaper.
