Default Back again and getting worse

Hi all,

As some may know, I was having an issue with my active handling kicking in at 5 to 6k rpms, Airbag lights, and NOW "Service Charging System".

The Charging system message is the latest in problems. The dealer has replaced yaw sensor, Airbag sensor, steering clip, and EVEN an EBCM.

The problem has continued and gotten worse with the latest message being "Service charging system"

I have read threads on each of these symptoms but wonder how I can have all 3 and no way to fix them.

Started THE DAY I added LG headers(dealer installed). Is this new message pointing me closer to the problem?

Any input is greatly apreciated, please help

Rod

have them reflash your ecm tcm back to stock then reload your tune. Maybe something is corrupted. AND look for a bad ground if that has not been done yet. Long shot here.......if plug wires/plugs are not stock there has been some reports of rf from non oem wires/plugs causing ecm flare ups esp with the service charging system message. If that doesnt work then try removing the headers and see what happens. I know the last comment is one you dont want to hear. Cant understand, like you, why a header install is causing this. Who tuned the car?

Hi KNKALI,

As you see Im still at it. I would think it was the wires exept that it did the active handling and airbag light with the factory wires. As for the tune, I did not have it retuned after the headers which is when it all started. The tune was in for about a month before without issue. One person suggested the starter. What do you guys think?

Thanks for the response!

In case you haven't already done this, I would look for any wires or connections that may have been damaged or knocked loose during the header installation. A loose wiring harness could affect multiple things.

Im not an expert but would love to be able to check myself.

It's probably not a coincidence this began the day of the header install.

There are alot of wires that run near the exhaust, many of which need to by tie wrapped securely out of the way. I strongly suspect there is a wire(s) that have come into contact with a header tube and are causing a short. Or, a grounding wire was not secured. If it were my car, I'd pull the headers out of the way and do a very detailed inspection of each wire in the area. Or, get the car up in the air and with a powerful drop light slowly inspect each square inch of the header looking for any wires that are in contact or close to the tubes. If you want something done right you have to do it yourself, forget the dealer for now.
