We will ALL appreciate the end result. I have spoke with Toyo today and it will not happen overnight. It must be approved for R&D, Engineering will then develop the proof of concept, research the mold, and any other costs, engineering will then turn estimated costs back to mgmt for approval. Following final approval the mold must be designed, mfg, and then test runs of product. I then assume there will be a few months of evaluation (Trial tests) before it is released for full production. We are talking 4-8 months before we receive word of the approval and 10-14 months before the product is ready for sale. Hopefully other mfg's are taking notice and one may pop up with a competitive product. The market is there to support the investment. I would assume 100-150K$ for a production die and ~ $125.00 for material and design costs per unit. It is a good investment for them with a breakeven somewhere around 450-500 units sold per tire. I think breakeven could be as soon as 12 months after release (or better).
We need those e-mails to continue. We have the opportunity to completely change the performance of our cars with this minor change. Those GTR's better look out! A Corvette with TRACTION, whether it be a std C6 or modded Z06 will give them BIG headaches. Crush those foreign cars
I am using R888 on 305/35/R18 and so far I am not impressed. I have a 416 that is NA and 305/35/R18 R888 does not hold the power.
Well of course not!. That's a LOT of power you have there. I have the 'lil ol cammed 364 with 485/438 and my 335/30-18 R888s barely hold in 1st gear. You should at least go to my setup. Stock fenders here, using CCWs. No rubbing etc.

Agreed 100% - send those e-mails. You may have to make upgrades just like anything else with these cars. Traction comes at cost or it would NOT be a problem.
