I'm getting a repeated "Check Gas Cap" message every time I start up and after I clear it, again about 15 mins later. Of course the gas cap is checked and on correctly. Has anyone seen this? 2005 Z51, manual. Vararam, throttle body spacer only mods done when this started, but not immediately following. A couple of thousand miles later, so I don't think it is related.
It happened to me....it's a recall. Go to the dealer and get a replacement. With your new cap, it will probably take a few days before the computer recognize.

I seen somewhere on here to put a little WD40 or silcone on the rubber gasket and don't press down on it or tighten it too much when you put it back on.
New caps were only a temp fix for me (got a couple from dealer.) After a week or two the error returned. Permanent fix was to have it turned off in the ECM.
