I have been chasing the active handling train like some of you and this is the consistant code that I have gotten. C0196 YAW rate sensor exchange rate out of range???
Whats this and whats the fix??
I had the sensor replaced in the past .
I saw what the manual says to fix this but given my litmited knowledge and tools Im at the mercy of the dealer.
I can't comment on the code or sensor, but I can tell you what yaw is if you don't know.
Yaw is a common term in aviation. It is the left to right movement around a point in an airplane when wings are level and the nose is not going up or down.
I can't really help you either and I think you mentioned you had a service manual and I probably read the same thing you did about diagnosing and fixing the problem. From what I read it appears to be related to stability control and attempts to keep the vehicle from fish tailing. It basically says to either look for shorts in the connector going to the sensor, shows the location of the sensor and/or replacing the sensor. Says the anti-lock brakes will still function but my guess is you will have problems with stability under high speed if you have an over steer or under steer situation. Again, this is all a guess on my part just from reading the service manual I have.
