switching seat controllers
Car is a 2007 3LT.
Are seat memory controllers somehow married to a specific car? Or can you switch them without problem?
I'm thinking about switching between 2 different seats (don't ask, long story). I'd like to have a memory controller on each. I'm just worried the car might freak out when I connect the new controller that isn't the one that came with the car.
Thanks

I swapped a pair of C6 seats into my 2006 C6 Z06 to get a power passenger seat and the adjustable lumbar and bolsters on both sides.
I got the C6 seats and swapped my Z06 seat skins onto the C6 seats. For the passenger side I ran a power wire to the passenger seat for the 6-way power adjustments/lumbar/bolsters. On the driver side I just put the new seat in, hooked up all the connectors under the seat, and everything worked perfectly, including all the memory functions.
I think the big problem would be if you tried to put full power seats in a car that originally just had manual seats - you'd probably have to use a Tech 2 to program the BCM to know it was now dealing with power seats, but if your original seats had full power and memory and your other set does too, I don't think the car will care which pair is in there.
