Default Dead Battery
I went to take my 05 convert. out last night and the battery was completely dead. I had just driven it a few days earlier and it was charging fine. I put the battery on charge and could not find anything that I had left on. Any ideas from anybody? If I need a new one, anyone have a favorite?

If it's the original battery, replace it. Five years on a battery is a long time.

You should just count yourself lucky it lasted this long, mine barely lasted 2 years, yet I'm still running the original Motorcraft battery on my 03 truck.

If you have a manual tranny make sure that the car has had the BCM reflash done to eliminated DBS, which will kill your battery almost randomly in roughly 24-48 hrs. If your car is automatic, this won't apply.

make sure you put trans in reverse before turing it off and not fifth like I did. mine is a 05 also.
