I'm probably going to do the full widebody conversion to my 07 LS2 powered coupe. My future plans call for installing the Vararam + other performance mods. With the Z06 nose would I get the Z06 Vararam for my LS2 or the standard LS2 Vararam? Not sure if the different versions of the intake are due to fitment, such as the different bumper cover, or the engines themselves.

Thanks for any help!
I'd say the one that will warp and let garbage into your engine, which means either one. But ask all the others that have bought one and regret it or swear by it. There really is no middle ground. The only thing you can't rely on is Vararam to chime in.

Maybe he can get it "pre-warped" from Vararam, that way he can have instant aggravation instead of having to wait, like the rest of us.
Thanks to Smoothbore for the help in answering the question posted. I appreciate all the warnings and have seen them posted before. Vararam must have done something when they came up with the design for the C6; I put 20k+ miles on my Vararam-equipped C5 and thought it worked great with no problems whatsoever. I think this whole "hydrolock" situation has been blown way out of proportion. When it rains, and especially heavily, I take my Tundra out and not the Vette so I don't worry about that. The only rain my Vette sees regularly is from the hose when I wash it.

hydrolock is not the big problem with the VR, it is the complete lack of quality that will leave you with a warped airbox that does not seal and allows foreign object into your motor. Callaway or LPE intakes will provide the same performance gains without any of the lack of quality issues of the VR.

I have to say that in this day and age of communication spreading via such forums as this I am surprised that Vararam would not take this into account and modify the design or their Q/A process to eliminate the warpage problem. It is obvious that word-of-mouth is putting a dent into their sales!
Vararam (or one of their distributors with feedback connections to them), are you listening?
