Default What defines WOT?

I have an 09 C6 A6.

What thresholds does the ECM/TCM use to switch to using the WOT tables? Is it a parameter controlled by HPtuner?

We ALL KNOW WOT MEANS WIDE OPEN THROTTLE. As far as the system ECM/PCM knows the position of the Throttle plate or " Butterfly". There is a TPS or Throttle position sensor that puts out a 0-5VDC being representative of fully closed to fully open. The PCM uses this signal for a host of other functions as controller. The first one that comes into mind is "commanded throttle position." you can use any programer HP TUNERS PREDATOR and the like.

There is a "Power Enrichment" (PE) table and other relavent Open Loop tables. The PE table is a fuel multiplier table from Stoich. To leave Closed Loop and enter PE, you can set Mass Air Pressure (MAP), RPM, and Throttle Position thresholds.

Default This is not a hard question

Seems like my question got lost in the thread.

Obviously we all know what the WOT abreviation means.

The question is:

On what basis does the ECM/TCM use to select WOT tables over the high end >= 81% plus columns in Partial Throttle tables?

I think I answered your question. You can set what RPM, what MAP, and what TPS you must be at to select PE table over standard CL fueling. The actual numbers are different from car to car and from year to year.

Default PE mode vs WPT mode

I assume the implication is that WOT mode and PE mode are the same thing. Is this true?

If I look at my tune under Engine>Power Enrich>Power Enrichment PE Enable table I find:

MAP = 15 kPA (based on the editor this is the min MAP value to enter PE)
Problem is that 15 kPA is way to low for a WOT threshold. I think at WOT typical MAP is near atmosphere (100-105 kPA). So this is really not a threshold to enter PE mode.
Enable RPM = 300, clearly this has nothing to do with WOT.

There is only a Hot PE Enable TPS table (despite the editor notes claiming a cold table). The entries in the table are 19% or less. Again nothing to do with WOT. In my case 19-20% is the lowest reading I get from the TPS.

Here is what my stock 2005 PE enable TPS Hot table shows:

0 - 3000 RPM = 48%
3500=36%
4000= 25%
4500=15%
Over 5000=3%

I doubt your 2009 is the same.

On the 2005, the % TPS to enable the PE is fully adjustable every 500 rpm. Hope this answers part of your questions.
