MAF relocation question

Default MAF relocation question
I was told by a friend to relocate the MAF on my C6 forward of the radiator to the exit of my K&N air charger to eliminate some heat soak problems. I have a Vette-air and a cold air box surrounding the air filter and, when the MAF heats up, it takes for ever to cool down. Moving the MAF forward should keep it cooler and report cooler intake air to the computer. The C5 has the MAF in this location.

Any thoughts, suggestion or recommendation?

might cause some idle and low speed driveability concerns with a sensitive maf (like the LS3)
