Hey all, My '05 VR Vert steering wheel has started to squeak, and it's making me nuts. I tried spraying WD40 in it, and another lubricant, but all it did was cause me to spend a lot of time cleaning it up.
I'm convinced I'm going to have to take the steering wheel off and find out what the problem is. BUT, I can't find any common sense instructions on how to remove and replace it.
Anyone know a good site where I can find this information?
Mine was driving me nuts, & I put lube on a string & slid it in between the stalk & the s.wheel & got the same results you did. Actually it is a lot more complicated because the s. wheel has internal electronics, a connector ring, & obviously an airbag. My car was under warrenty & they handled it for free & it been fine since. The dealer that fixed mine has a tech who is a certified Corvette specialist. It's Colonial Chevrolet, in Norfolk, VA owned by Rick Hendrick 757 455 4500. I don't recall his name but call & ask for the very tall guy (tech) who specializes in Corvettes & maybe he can help you. The 1st dealer didn't fix it & I'm w/ you it was maddening to listen to.
