I just bought an 08 C6 and am wondering why it has 2 nav discs when other GM vehicles come with a single? WIll the single work as well? I recently bought a used C6 that didn't have the original discs. The seller gave me a single disc that coversw the entire country and it "seems" to work.
I'm not at all impressed with the quality of the display and not sure if ?????
Here's what it looks like. It's GM Part #15932106; Version 3.00
I believe it was the 08 model that came with two discs, one for the east and the other for the west with overlap in the middle because the data could not fit on one disc. Either the one disc or the two disc set will work in any year C6.
As they add data to it, it simply all will not fit onto a single disk any more. Now what they need to do is alter the DVD ROM to a BluRay and they'll have lots of room but of course the disks won't be compatible with the current ROM drives in our cars.
So if I'm out driving country roads and jumping back and forth across the border every 5 minutes from Arkansas which is say on disc 1 and Oklahoma which is on Disc 2 do I need to constantly change discs?

Also note from the map that there is there is overlap between the discs, so unless you're going through several states, you shouldn't have to swap discs even for POI info.
