Default Cam Position Sensor

Got a check engine light when trying to start and the code was a cam position sensor. Where is this sensor on the 09 LS3? Wasn't it moved to the front of the block? How hard is it to replace it? Thanks.

The car will start it's just that once a week or every two weeks it will crank for about 10 seconds before it starts then it is fine for another week or two. Very intermittent.

That is the symptom that it is not functioning properly. So I suggest you take it to the dealer and get it replaced.
