I have another question, is it common to need a front end alignment at 14k miles? Front tires are wearing on outside edges and dealership recommended a 4-wheel alignment. Anyone experience this problem with such low miles? Is this a common problem?
Production alignment specs are wide ranging... not uncommon for a vette to be within spec but not optimally aligned. Personally, I think its well worth having an alignment, not only for tire life, but optimal handling. Search should yield plenty of information on alignment specs/recommendations.
I had my alignment checked at 5000 miles and it was off..One reason I believe is that the cars settle somewhat after delivery causing the alignment to be off somewhat.

I am in agreement....I just purchased my 05 coupe in March with 36k on it and after on the rack for a detail, the front tires are shot...with 40k miles!...however I believe they are original....also, the width and low stance of the C6's, you cannot readily see the inside edge of your front tires where mine are worn nearly to the threads...only cost $86 at Les Schwabs for a 4 wheel alignment...an expensive lesson....and you CANNOT tell by driving the car...mine is as smooth and steady at 55 as it is at 100...no pulling, vibratiing or wandering.

Your car may have needed an alignment at 1 mile, and you're now seeing the result. How worn are we talking? That outside edge is going to get scuffed a little in 14K miles, especially if you like going around corners.
As has been mentioned, the factory alignments vary all over the place. Small adjustments are very noticeable.
I've had my car aligned three times in 57K miles. Each time the car was within GM specs but definitely in need of improvement.

Alignments are often "off" at delivery. Unless you had it checked, you most likely wouldn't notice until your tires told you . Also , one good pot hole or curb shot can knock it out. Its a good practice to do a 4 wheel alignment when replacing tires , more often if you suspect it may be out.
I am overwhelmed with how nice and "helpful" the Vett members are.
Thank you for all the advise on the alignment, it makes sense. Like one member said, "its a performace car," not like driving a normal vehicle around...Thanks for the photo of the worn tire - that's crazy, vett tires are not cheap.
On another note, we're seeing a lot of Vetts at the Michigan Annual Woodward Dream Cruise,...nice cars!
