Sorry for the newb question but, I have everything set to auto remember. I have the 1 button programmed for my seating position, steer wheel position, radio, ac and mirrors…. When I get out of the car the seat and the steering moves back so I can get out, it even locks the car when I walk away… So how come when I open the door, get in and start the car it does not return to number 1 position? Why do I have to push the 1 button for everything to come back? I read the man and if I interpret it correctly it should recognize my FOB (number 1) and bring everything back correct? So then what am I doing wrong…. Once again sorry for the stupid question…
Do you unlock the car with the FOB button as you come up to it? I think that is supposed to reset the "settings".
Yer gonna make me look at the book, huh?

Dude I have read that sucker like 20 times, my neighbors are starting to look funny at me.....
I do not use the remote to open the door. I walk up and open the door with the FOB in my pocket....
is it possible that eventhough the FOB has a one on top that it may not be "one" is that even possible? like it says one but in reality it's number two...

Autos have both memory features, manual trannys don't. The only thing the manual tranny can do is automatically park the seat and steering column away for easy entry and exit.
Auto will put seat back with the fob 1 or 2 when the engine is started
Manuals need the clutch in to start so we don't get the auto remembering function. With the manual tranny, we have to be big boys and girls and push the button on the door.

The other fob isn't in the car by any chance is it? I know when the wife and I go for a drive and she has left her purse in the car, I use my fob (#2 in this case) to unlock the door and get in, however whenever I start the car it goes into the #1 position (squeezing the life out of my knees ).

thats a good one....
yea no other FOB... I have gone as far as putting her FOB away in the Kitchen just to make sure.....
Ok this is real crazy got home and grabed the wifes FOB which has the numer two on it. Went to the car and lord and behold when I hit the start button it brought all my settings back. It was nice to see my personalized welcome on the DIC...
so WTF, how was it possible that they are not correct? and if I want to correct it do I just plug in the #two FOB (which is actualy one) and reprogram it to #1 and then take number two and reporgram it to number one? is that even possile?
BTW thanks guys you got me thinking and I figured I would try the impossible and I guess I took it for granted...

Could it be the dealer coded the 2 units in reverse? You lucky devil!
To the OP--I'm not familiar with the Auto, but my MN6 works the way you describe--that is to say, I have to press button #1 (my fob) on the drivers door to reclaim my settings.
In order to memorize your settings, remember to push and hold the #1 or #2 button on the door for a couple of seconds till you hear it beep a couple of times. That will do the memorize function. The order in which the fobs were programmed to the car will determine which of the door buttons will gain whichever memory you stored, not the fob number. So, if fob2 was programmed first, its really now fob1 as far as the car is concerned
