Most Aviation Engines run 8-9:1 Cr. Lycoming/Continental, Turbos run 7.8:1
General Aviation fuel is 100ll, blue, 115/130 Green is only avaliable overseas.

Avgas 115/130 was used years ago in the USA mainly for big radial engine aircraft. For example, the Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp had a 6.7 compression ratio with a 5.75" bore and 6' stroke. They were low reving, but needed the higher octane because of the very large cylinder quench area.

Since the round motors are allmost all gone, the fuel is only avaliable in the Island and South America, where they use them.

Thanks for the heads up. The guy who runs the Corvette shop I had the Vortex installed at has been running his business for over 20 yrs. I figured if he had a bunch of problems with the Vortex, he wouldn't be installing them. I'll be sure to ask him about it though!!!

I've run a Vortex Rammer, it worked good, no problems, that being said I now run an LPE unit
and it's about the same setup, except it has a much better Filter and cone design.
I swapped to 100mm Maf so the Vortex no longer fit.

My bad. I saw "V" and thought Vararam. I haven't read anything negative about the Vortex.
