Default Gas Cap Light
Hey guys just have been noticing that my check gas cap light has been on?? any thoughts.. i screwed it on and off like 8 times and even tightened for a while no progess??

Try buying a new one. They are like $20 from the dealer. Inexpensive fix to try. GM has had some problems with them.

I have been having the same kind of issue (2007 m6 Z51). Every time I get gas the light would come on for about 3-4 restarts. Bought a new cap and still doing the same thing. Would rather not take it to the dealer if I can help it.

Somewhere on this site is a TSB that talks about the possibility of a nick on the filler neck that could also cause this problem.

I had mine replaced a year ago. It's a recall....go to the dealer.

Guess I better wake up and re-read the owner's manual. I didn't even know there was a gas cap light!
