I am doing some research on how the shift linkage is connected to the transaxle. Can someone post a picture on how the shift linkage is connected to the transaxle?
I need a picture of the transaxle in the car to get an idea of the clearances around the linkage. I want to replace the linkage with hydraulic cylinders.
Thanks,
Enzo

Hey...I like you and all.....but I'm not gonna put it in the car just for a picture.
Going to be a very difficult adaptation. The current shifter uses a single rod with 3 in and out (push/pull) positions and 4 left/right (rotate)positions. The rod has to rotate to 4 places and push/pull to 3 places.
Push/Pull =
All the way in gives 1,3,5 & reverse, middle is nuetral and all the way out is 2,4,6.
Rotate =
All the way left gives 1,N,2
next position right gives 3,N,4
next position right gives 5,N,6
next position right gives R,N
I am going to switch my 05 vert over from an A4 to manual. I had planned on already doing it, but I was also doing a widebody, changing the base suspension over to Z51, and re-painting the car, changing the color. That was a big enough project, so I'm enjoying the car for a while and I'll change it out this winter.
