I have a C6 auto, 21K miles. The CEL came on and I limped home in third. I have a cheap code reader that's worked fine on other vehicles but it gets a link error after scanning a while. Of course the intructions say to turn the ignition to ON (without starting the engine) after hooking the scanner up. Turning accessory mode on had no effect.
Do the local autozone etc., sell an cheap scanner that works with the Corvette? The car is out of warranty and I'd kind of like a heads up on the code before I take it to a dealer.
Well took the car to autozone and their scanner could read the codes. P0700 and P1825. It's shifting normally again, although the transmission temp is higher than usual, around 198. Looks like it'll have to go to the dealer.
For "Ignition on" you have to push the bottom of the start button like you are going to put it in accessory mode, but continue to hold it down. It will go into "ignition on, engine off" mode.
I don't have the codes with me, but I think my wifes car had the p0700 and the best I remember it sounded bad. It never came back before it went out of warranty, but I had the dealership make a note of it.
