Busted parking brake??
I've never used my parking brake in my 09 Auto C6 since I normally leave it in the garage. But I let my old man borrow it the other day and he comes back to tell me that my parking brake was a SOB to release and he had to beat on it pretty bad to get it down. I don't think he realized that you were supposed to hold the brake in to release it and now it looks as if the button is stuck and when I pull the parking break up it won't activate.. just makes a clunking noise. Is it safe to say I'll have to take it down to the dealer and get it fixed or is there some way I can get it to reset or something?

Sounds like Dad broke it. You can easily pull off the lever boot and have a look under there. It is just held on with a few clips on the console side. Just pull up on it and the clips will release. You may be able to see something that was bent or broke. To actually get to the entire lever assembly, you will need to remove the center console and passenger seat so you can get the carpet pulled back to have a better look.
