Default P0700/P1825 codes '07 A6

Did a quick search about these codes (and SEL being on) because my 32K miles A6 just threw these codes (had them read at an Auto Zone).

Of course, here we are 2500 miles from home (NCM Anniversary Celebration), 5 pm on a Saturday and Dealers are closed until Tuesday.

The tranny seems to be shifting ok now but is running a little warm (because of no lockup TC?). Everything else APPEARS to be ok but the SEL is still on.

I'm wondering if I'm being stupid to try to head home at this point or wait until Tuesday (which totally f*** things up for the rest of our trip!).

Our plans called for leaving BG in the morning, heading for Indianapolis.

Try disconnecting your battery and letting the car sit for as long as possible (overnight would be ideal) with it disconnected, might not help but ya never know.

Found this little bit of info on the web about the P1825 code..The guy has a Denali so not sure how relevant the info might be..I will keep looking into it for ya..Maybe you can take it out, and go through all the modes, and gears to see if the solenoid will start working again.
BTW hope you guys have had fun..

Searched online and found an exploded diagram view of my transmission. The Internal mode switch basically just lets the systems know which gear its in. Its part of the control valve
assembly.

Took it to the local GMC dealer and they said its an internal transmission issue and will be covered under the 5yr 100k powertrain warranty! I'm bringing it back in on Monday and they will have it for about 3 days.

Another thread you may look at:

There is a TSB on this and P1915 associated with a no start situation;

Engine: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE
Service Bulletin Number: 3845
NHTSA Number: 10020926
Model Years Affected: 2007
Date of Bulletin: 01/2007

Bulletin Summary: MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) ILLUMINATED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P1825 AND/OR P1915. IN THE TCM NO PRNDL DISPLAY NO CRANK.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From a pontiac G8 forum..Same tranny" Summary was a solenoid had to be replaced, mechanic said a "shaving" caused it to fail..Another owner had same problem, took it to a dealer but the problem had cleared itself..

Followup (and conclusion) to my thread.

After 2500+ miles, 8 days and countless start ups since the issue first came up, I'm happy to report we made it home without further incident. The SEL went out the next day and the car performed flawlessly since.

Still, since it's still under warranty, going to have it looked at this week.

Thanks to all for the suggestions and comments.

07 with 36k miles just had the same thing tonight, when it first threw the codes i was in the middle of traffic and the tranny seemed to be slipping, but then suddenly stopped. Did your tranny slip at all?

Nope. It just wouldn't shift above 3rd gear.

Default Codes?

Maybe your vette was just getting a warm and fuzzy feeling by being close to its birthplace--a return to the womb kind of a thing.
Glad you made it back without incident.
