^^^ that rear looks just like mine when it blew on the 302nd drag strip run. I went with a C5 rear instead of an updated c6 as it costs about 1/2 and since I like to drag race I'm afraid I might be replacing the rear again in the future.

SlickShoes what did you do to your trans that required replacement?

Hey Joe-

After tearing it down, what caused it to wedge itself in 2nd was the bent 1/2 fork somehow jumping over and catching on the either the 3/4 or 5/6 fork (I forget, but I believe it was the 5/6).

Once it was dug through, it was determined that the rest of the tranny was on it's last leg anyways, and had been beaten pretty good. All the synchros were near-shot, reverse was missing teeth, so was third, 2 forks were bent, and most of the pads were crushed. Yikes! So, I've ordered replacement parts for probably 70 % of the tranny's internals just as a preemptive measure, upgrading where possible (i.e. steel 3/4, bronze pads, timken bearings), etc. I wanted to have everything REM'd and Cryo'd, but I don't have the time. The car needs to be together by mid October at the latest for some big events.

I know I promised pics. I will snap better ones as we're reassmbling everything here hopefully next week.
