Default installing kooks headers, have questions

do kooks usually come with bolts to bolt up the catted x pipe to the headers ? I bought some used ones, and there are no bolts. Anyone know what size, and type of bolt I should be using ?

Also, spark plugs look like crap, want to get some new ones... What do you recommend ? No cam or FI just yet, just intake, full exhaust, and will get retuned once the kooks are in.

I would use some grade 8 bolts. Just take em down to the hard ware store and find one that fits. Use a regular hex head instead of an allen head because when the bolts get hot the tend to not wanna come off the next time you need them too.

For spark plugs I and many others I need use NGK tr6's. There are a lot of other opinions but I use these and the work great.

one more question... do you use the rear 02's ? the rear holes came plugged. looks like I can just take out the bolts and screw in my rear 02's.

are the extensions for the front or rear 02's ?

Header to x pipe bolts come with the new combo...sounds like you were shorted a set. Take a measurement and make a trip to your local hardware store.

I bought NGK Iridium IX TR-5IX Spark Plugs (.040 GAP) from Maryland Speed.... Part #: NGK-7397-8. Topped them off with a set of Taylor 10.4mm wires...same vendor.

You don't need the rear o2 sensors....you will have to have them tuned out in the ECU though or you will see a CEL with multiple codes if you don't tune them out.

O2 extensions are for the rear 02 sensors.

The holes will accept a 9/16" bolt, but a 1/2" is more common and will work just fine. I used a 6" long stainless steel bolt.

I did some more research (didnt finish my install today, but oh well), and it seems the TR5IX's are the way to go... I found some locally to, just need to pick em up in the morning. Maybe they have the Taylors... I can always order them, their easy enough to install later.

will having the rear 02's make a difference for emissions testing ? If not I will leave em out
