Default clutch spring fixed, now pedal issues!!

I don't know how long my clutch spring had been broken but I was very familiar with how much pressure it took to press the clutch in and how much pressure I felt as I let it out. I had it fixed today at the dealership and as soon as I got into the car I knew something was wrong. I almost put my foot through the floor pressing on the clutch. On the return I felt substantially LESS pressure as the pedal travelled back up. Isn't this the opposite of what I should feel?? I had the tech look at it and drive it and he said it seemed to feel like every other vette. I then had 2 other guys from the dealership drive it and they said the same thing. I seriously doubt these guys would be blowing smoke up my *** as my father is their boss, but I'm still concerned.

Don't know if you got your answer, but my understanding is if they fixed or replaced the spring then there should be less pressure/ effort to use the pedal. The spring is there to offer assistance.

I bought my car used and I pretty sure the guy removed the spring becuase the pedal is real heavy. I am looking around at how to add it back. Don't know if you can buy just that part or not.

^^^^^That's right - its a clutch assist spring. Provides assistance in both directions.

If it feels about like a stock honda Civic's clutch then it's working "right". That is to say, the way it was designed to work.

Mine doesn't feel like many describe? I looked up under there Sunday and I see 1 big spring, it always clicks when I am letting the clutch out as well.

could be its broken so no assist, get up in there and look closely. if you have to replace it is less than $10 and easy to do

Use the C5 spring. It is smaller and makes the clutch pedal more stiff.
