The car has been having some lag lately... whenever I push the pedal to WOT, it accelerates... then hesitiates... almost "hick-ups"... and then continues to accelerate. I had an 01 SS with the LS1 that did the same thing right before I sold it. It doesn't seem to do it if I downshift and get the RPMs above 3k. The hesitation occurs when I got WOT when the car in running at low RPMs. Any idea? Is something dirty? I know its not bad gas as it has been running like this for a month or 2 now.. and my last car did the same thing. Thanks in advance you ridiculously smart people!!
Im gonna say check your plugs cause Ive had so many problems with mine. Also try seafoaming it you may have dirty injectors or something. I had a problem like this once but it was in my tune and if its only been hapening for a month that rules that out.
One more question is your TC on when this happens? It could be sensing something and shutting it down for a second. There could also be something else thats pulling timing for a brief second.

Thanks batman. I had a feeling ti was something with the plugs/intake. I will throw some seafoam in there for the injectors and I'll take out a plug and see how they look. What is the average life for plugs on the LS2... keeping in mind that mine is supercharged, so I'm sure they get beat up a little faster than normal. They have 23K miles on them. When do you guys change yours? What is the best plug to get ?
WOW you are overdue on plugs I can garuntee it. I bet thats your problem right there. Ive changed mine 2 times in the last 10k. Mine get eaten up pretty quick though cause Im cammed. Im sure your fuel map is altered to altering your spark plug life. I would start with that and then go down the list. If you put the seafoam in the brake vaccum line and start the car up that will clean you out good too. Its gonna smoke like a sum biatch for about 20 mins but it will blow all that carbon out.
You may wanna call your tuner and see what kinda plug is recommended for a supercharged setup. I use the NGK Tr6 which I believe is one step colder than stock to help keep the combustion cooler. (at least thats what I was told).

Thanks for great advice. I guess I lost track of how many miles I put on them. Miles fly by when you're having fun! I just PMed my tuner. So he should be getting back to me on the type of plugs. Did you have any difficulties swapping out the plugs? I know on the LS1 in the Camaro, it was impossible... how easy is the C6?
Say hi to OKC for me! I def miss it.
My knowledge of throttle bodies pretty much stops at doing a bypass on my C4 but on my ex's Z28 (LT1), we took it into a shop and the guy said he'd "clean" the TB....not sure exactly what the entails, but maybe $10 onto the bill with the other fixes we had (nothing related to the issue) and her throttle response shot through the roof. Been years now, so, sorry for the lack of terminology on what was done. I'm sure someone will chime in with what was ACTUALLY done.

Its pretty easy. Youll just need a universal socket (bendy) for the back plug on each side. Other than that a 3in ext and a 5/8 spark plug socket will do the trick. Just do it on a cold motor and dont overtorque em.
I cant see how you miss okc being in florida now. Unless your in Iraq or Afghanistan then I think youve got to have it better.

Theres nothing really to clean on the TB unless its the MAF. Unless he "cleaned" up the rough edges on the inside of the casting of the TB. Thats all I can think of.
Like I said, can't remember exactly which part he said he cleaned. Did a quick google since it's been so long and found at least a couple threads on other forums about throttle response:
Most results you find are on Japanese car forums, but eh....might be something useful to think about down the line when these C6s start building up the miles. Anyhow, was just throwing an idea out there, good luck to the OP!

Thanks... plug change went without a hitch. 1000X easier than the F-bodied LS1s. The old ones were pretty ugly. So we'll see how it handles now. I haven't had a chance to open it up yet.
I just got back from 5 months in Iraq... so yeah... OKC would be nicer... but FL is very nice. Just not as booming as OKC is. Lots of smaller older businesses. Not as big of a city.

Well glad you made it back safe and sound from Iraq. I may be heading there or afghanistan next year as a volunteer for army assist on convoy's etc.
Im sure the plugs will fix it Im almost positive that was your problem. keep us posted and let us know.
Thanks to everyone that helped. It seems like the new plugs helped a lot. Even though they didn't look too bad... I guess its a good idea to change them maybe every 15k miles. And Yeah... my tuner suggested the NGK TR6 plugs.... they are a colder plug. Works like a charm!!
