Default NPP Reprogramming?

The factory sets up the stock C6 NPP exhaust to "open" at about 3500 RPM. Is it possible to re-program the stock unit to open at say 1700 RPM (just above "drone zone") without having to purchase an aftermarket controller like the Mild To Wild or other switch? And if so, how? I all ready have the MTW and I like it alot, but it would be great to have a system that works like the factory unit, but opens up sooner.

I haven't seen that in HP tuner Beta, but can't speek for EFI live.

Maybe ask on HP or EFI forums.

I think this is precisely what you're looking for:

I don't think there is any way to adjust anything with the tuner programs (HPTuner, LS2Edit, etc.), but with the Ultimate Exhaust Commander it sounds like you can do exactly what you want to do.

I don't have this unit - mine is the older unit that allows me to open or close the valves when I push the controller button, and it's great!!!

I also have Ben's Nav Controller that lets me put in addresses or POIs into the nav unit while driving, and it's great also.

You won't go wrong with any of Ben's Sunset Orange Creations products.

Thanks all, for the information. I'll keep it handy. But, what I'm trying to find is the most economical and efficient way of getting to point B (in other words "cheap seats"). Like, either mechanically or electronically re-adjusting/modifying whatever part in the car that tells the butterflies in the exhaust to open. Doing so, by plugging in and later removing an electronic programmer would probably be easiest IF POSSIBLE. If that can't be done, anything else work, like a hammer and duct tape? Comments?

They hit it on the head in the posts above with the recommendation of the Ultimate Exhaust Commander.

I designed this controller to do exactly what you are looking to do.

There is no way to program the factory bi-mode system to do anything except what the factory wants it to do.

I built the Ultimate Exhaust Commander to allow people full flexability in what the NPP system does.

You get to choose full open, stock rpm open, or user selectable rpm opening.

It is the most advanced controller I make and it is the most technologically intricate one as well. It has a wireless receiver with keyfob remotes, a built in non volitile memory, and a user selectable rpm module.

While it is not the most inexpensive controller out there, it does the job and does it very very well.

Many racers use my system to gain adjustability and added functionality to their bi-mode systems.

Others like it because you can set it just past the "Drone Zone" and have it open automatically so you get the maximum amount of open time with Zero Drone on the freeway or around town.

If you ever need any additional info, let me know.
