Brake Squeal, quick question on my 2008 Coupe with 17k miles on it I have a brake squeal sounds like it’s just the brake pad squealing when the brakes are first applied it’s not very loud, it sounds like its coming from the front right, is this something worth taking back to the dealer and try to get warranty work or should I just but on new pads? If it's new pads what are the best?
This is normal for this vehicle. Try to presure wash the caliper to get the dust out. You can also do some hard stops and see if that helps.
Ultimitaley if you decide to change pads, check out the carbotech bobcat 1521.

Thanks I will try what you suggested, and I assumed by the lack of respone that it was pretty normal just very annoying to hear that high pitch noise everytime i touch the brakes, if I do replace them I will go with yours. thanks
been there done that ..... It took me a while but no more squealing.... rayspetos Quiet brake pads.... I swear by them & cost about 100 dollars for the front . You can thank me later ....
My 07 with 32k on the clock does the same, it comes and goes.... checked the brakes but I have good pad left on all four corners. The owners manual is confusing, first it says squeal is normal due to the high perf brakes, then says squeal means you need new brake pads. I was thinking taking the pads off and applying anti-squeal grease to the back side then reinstalling. Mine sounds like its comming from the back. Really annoying that my 40K dollar car sounds like the 300 dollar beater next to me at the stop light.

I hear that, I am going to look at mine this weekend and see I can just clean them up and get them to stop. Will let you know.
I have an 05 Z51 and this was happening to my car. GM checked the pads and said they were fine. I found a bulletin on the 05 Z51 on this issue here at CorvetteForum and went back to the dealer. Bulletin said the dealer was to replace the pads at no cost to me.
Dealer then told me my rotors were ruined and could not be turned. I fought with them and in the end GM replaced both the rotors and pads and only charged me $200.
The brakes started squealing the first day I drove her and still do. I intend to replace the pads with someone aftermarket and the problem should go away.
I had this when I first got the car. I took off the pads and applied the high temp pad adhesive and it went away for a year or so. Its back but infrequent, goes away immediately with one modulation of the pedal and is currently not my biggest problem! I intend to do them again or replace the pads. The dust drives me nuts with black wheels.
Listen guys..........................Ive fixed the problem for you... Just read my first post and you wont hear and brake squealing . Its your ears....lol
I have a Z51 with 9000 miles it was squealing, I got GM Ceramic pads from Gene Cully... I never did anything to the rotors... not its perfect.. quiet, and NO break dust!!
