Default Twilight Delay - What's The Scoop?

Looking at page 3-71 of the 2006 Owner's Manual. It says..."Twilight Delay: This option allows you to set the amount of time you want the parking lamps and front fog lamps to remain on after you exit the vehicle.". Fine - no problem - I get it.

BUT, it then says, "the parking lamps and front fog lamps will remain on until the driver selected time expires, the exterior lamp control is activated or the vehicle is no longer off or in RAP."

The RAP though is up to 10 minutes after the engine is turned off, or until one of the doors are opened.

So what I do not understand is, how will the lights stay on after I exit the vehicle for the time I select if these lights will turn off once the vehicle is no longer in RAP...which would occur as soon as I open my door?

Tried this earlier, and sure enough, as soon as I opened my door, the parking lamps and front fog lamps went off.

Am I missing something?
