My car is stock with the exception of a Vararam, and a Tune... EVERYTHING IS STOCK!! its an 05 A4 with 3.15 rear...and a 160 T Stat.
I've run a best of 12.08 @ 115mph I have about $1000 to spend... do I
1. go to a 3600 converter.... or
2. 1.8 Rockers, & headers...
3. Cam....
4. Just give the car to Cartek, with the $$ and let them do whatever they think is best?
I'm figuring I'll have to add another few hundred for another tune After the mods are done...
1000.00 At Cartek likely gets squadush. 1000.00 is not enough
for any of the choices.
My mods are
Gears 390's 1250.00 installed (good deal)
ARH z-06 headers coated (self installed) 1800.00 (good deal)
A&A V-3si kit (self installed) 5350.00
Extra's for A&A kit 150.00
Z0-6 catback direct fit 350.00
Header change from 1 3/4 800.00
3 TUNES 1350.00
Not counting non-power mods thats $11.100.00
But also with 578rwhp 530rwtq with the gears through a Mustang Dyno!
I'd do them again a second. Car is stock reliable gets good mileage.
But can flat BOOK! Down the road. Waiting for a ZR1 to play with!

unfortunately that this a pretty true statement unless Cartek can source some used parts. You already have the two effective, least cost mods.
In terms of ET, the high stall converter will do the most for the car. With a few hundred more dollars you can purchase the converter, a tranny cooler, and the labor to install it. It will also make the car faster from a roll as the car will not fall on its face on the 1-2 upshift and help a bit on the 2-3 upshift.

Guys thanks for the advice.. after doing some price shopping I agree with going with the converter.. for the following reasons..
1. its the least expensive
2. I'll probably get the most gain (I only race 1/4 mile) always from a standing start at a Track (E Town, Atco, etc..
3. Most good converters are "lock up" and above 45 mph it will lock up, and my highway gas mileage should remain the same... (app 26 mpg)
4. I'm not sure if it will have to be re-tuned but I'll go for it..
I got a price on Vigilante 3600 for around $800 (Tune about $250) + install.. so I don't think I'll to TOO far over budget.. & I hoping to pick up 2 or 3 tenths... and run 11.7 - 11.8 with the converter.. Already have MT Drag Radials..
Thanks... you guys were right even just RR or cam will be way over budget!

I'd be bummed if you tossed in a vig 3600 and didn't drop more than .3. You've got the tires so you could see .3 on your 60'.
I know I'll get flamed, but there are some inexpensive SS headers on that infamous auction site, that, if you self install and get a tune, will put you within your budget.
