Default Wider tires, possible wide body conversion needed.

If I go through with a body conversion...

Yeah I'll have my wide tires in the rear. But what else needs to change?

Can I keep my stock rear rotors and brakes? Would it look retarded if I did keep them?
(Technically my rotors aren't stuck, but they're the stock size)

Would the front wheels and tires have to changed to accomodate the rear?

Thanks

If you're getting the wide body kit then you're fine...nothing else needs to be changed. You can slap a set of ZO6 wheels/rubber with no problem. You brakes do not need to be upgraded at all. That's just extra. Factory brakes look good. The only reason why i'm planning on going with a ZO6 BBK is because they look a lot better and perform better than my current Z51 setup.

As for the fronts you can run a 275 tire with the appropriate offset wheels.

When i did my wide body, I did the whole thing. The reason why is because it looks better and instead of the factory 245s in the front, I now run 295s. Handling is much better especially with my 345s in the rear.

I thought the 345's (Michelin PS2's) would give me the traction I needed when I ordered them... They are better than what I had, but its no miracle... I still have traction issues... Thinking about R Compound tires for next year.

I seriously doubt you'll gain anything with the Z06 brakes, other than weight. Many respected racers would advise you to keep what you have and upgrade to a real big brake kit if needed. The Z06 brakes are not a BBK. They do look better.

Thanks all.

I don't see a need to get a brake upgrade. Most of my driving is just cruising on the road. I'm not a racer who has to rely on top performance brakes.
If I ever do get a brake upgrade it'll probably be just for looks then, lol.

Would Z06 Reproduction wheels support 275?
Or would I have to just order a set of "actual" Z06 wheels.

I guess what I'm TRYING to ask above is if the Base Coupe can fit Z06 sized rims and wheels in the front (without any additional mods)

With the right offset you can run 275s all day long. Here are my 295s under stock C6 fenders.

That's a 18X10.5 inch front and 18X13 inch rear CCW C10s. I don't remember the offset but you can call John at CCW and he'll know or look it up for you. James "San" Johnson.

im running 275's in the front of my c6 with no problems on an 18x9.5 inch wheel and 56mm offset. They are reproduction wheels. You will be fine with reproductions as long as you get the correct offset.
