Default Headers, Cam, Vararam installed, short vid

Sound quality isn't the best. We wrapped it up at about 3:30 am this morning, and I just took a quick video with my phone.
  • Cam: Texas Speed MS4 (239/242, .649/.609, 111 LSA), comp pushrods, patriot dual .660 lift springs
  • Headers: OBX Longtubes w/ Xpipe (yeah yeah, cheap chinese, whatever, they fit great, sound great, and are way better than I expected for the price, so far - we'll see what happens)
  • Vararam intake

Love it so far, though I'm still heat cycling the springs, so I haven't gotten it past about 3500.

Dropping the car off to get tuned tonight and heading out of town for the weekend.. can't wait to get it back and romp on it!

The car is filthy... it will be getting a well-deserved wash, buff, and wax as soon as I'm back in town!

Things learned:
1) bleeding the air out of these cooling systems takes for-ev-er. could've flushed and bled my GTO 3 times in the time it took to do it.
2) do not tighten the bolts and shut the vette hood before it's adjusted properly, or it takes a lot of finagling and reaching to get it back open. (front of the hood was too low, got stuck in the rubber seal and wanted to lift the whole front bumper with it..)
3) failing #3, do not drop both 13mm sockets into an unreachable spot in the front end when trying to loosen the bolts to open said stuck hood.

Thanks!

I did it in a friend's garage (he has a lift.. so much easier!) with the help of some great friends!

Hoping we get at least a couple more clear sunny days before the snow flies here... I'd like to head to the 1/4 to see what kind of improvement it made over stock w/ just the borla.

Probably be a while on the dyno #s. We've always street tuned my cars and just dyno'ed on free dyno days or whatever. I trust track #s over dyno #s anyway and my tuner does a great job with street tuning / logging.

Friend's 2006 GTO (also LS2) that the cam and pushrods came out of made 431 with almost the exact same mods, but of course it's a different drivetrain and exhaust layout. But it should be around 430, depending on the day and the dyno. The cam really likes the high revs.. not a daily driver cam for sure (though, I will daily drive it in the summer anyway :P)

When it was stock, launching at 1000-1500 on runflat tires on a notoriously slippery track (rock falls, wi), I was running 13.0 @ 111 w/ a 2.1 60'. Hoping to hit the track if the weather's good enough next weekend and see what it'll do. More concerned about the trap speed difference, I'm not much of a drag racer and don't really want to break things anyway

Picked it up and had a chance to drive it a bit Sunday night before the snow came. Huge improvement.. the runflats and cold weather aren't doing me any favors, but breaking loose at the top of 2nd and getting a bit squirrely on the 2nd-3rd shift is damn fun! Z06 rear quarter panels, wheels, and tires are going on over the winter, so come spring I'll be able to put more power to the road. Here's another idle shot with it tuned, idling at 950 rpm:

There are 2 hoses going to the reservoir, follow the top one to where it connects to a couple of others at a T. disconnect it, and blow into it. when coolant comes out of where you disconnected it, its bled. Super Easy.

Nice Gains
