Default Goodbye, but not forever..

Hey guys, I sold my Vette. I know this isn't the correct forum to post it under, but it is the only one I ever posted in, and read religiously. I never posted a ton, but read it quite a bit. I have spoken with many of you over the phone and made some great local friends.

However, due to a recent family emergency, and the fact my wife is pregnant with with our second child it only made sense. The corvette which I've had since new has always been a 3rd or 4th vehicle in my household, but it just ins't making sense anymore to own it financially.....at least for now.

I've enjoyed building it, owning it, and most of all driving it. This is by far the best forum I've been a part of(and I've been a part of many automotive forums). Thanks in advance for all you guys support, kindness, and willingness to help people make more power, go faster, and make friends and help people while doing it.

My car was sold to some poor 23yr old as a graduation gift. I hoped he knew what a 530whp 403 stroker drove like, but apparently that's not the case. Just 1hr after selling it I recieved a phone call that he spun it out on the highway while punching it in 3rd and doing a lane change. The car had no damage, but I get the distinct feeling my vette won't be around for much longer being driven like that anyway.

I ended up trading my civic in and currently own a G8 GXP which is luckily LS3 powered. It is a 6M, and hopefully will hold me over until I am able to get another vette. It makes more sense for now with the second kid on the way and it is now my daily driver.

I love you guys, and will still continue to read the forum religiously. Farewell for now!

Life is full of twists, sometimes you have to twist with it..At least your not stuck in a ricer..Man coming out of a beast like you had would not be right..
At least we know to wave back if some one in a GXP is waving at us..
How about posting up a pic of the GXP so we know who to look for..

1 hour after the kid gets it he spins out on the highway? Sad to say but I Think you are right, he will wrap it around a tree, or hurt someone with it pretty soon.

I remember when I had my 82 celica GTS as my first car. 80 something hp, and rwd and it was alot for me at 16. The good news is this is not the kids daily driver. He has a tahoe to tool around in as well. Must be nice.

That car of yours DEMANDS respect.....it really needs drag radials full time from a safety standpoint!

I hope that kid figures out FAST how that kind of power can get you in trouble. He needs to keep that thing on the track....

I love your new G8. That is one slick ride. Figures GM cancels Poncho...that car would be a real competition to BMW. Great quality and some real American torque...unlike those 10,000 rpm M5's.

Post a pic of it for the crew.

oh..and by the way, for those reading this, Dougie had it modded before it turned 1000 miles!

you don't need a corvette to share your experiences to others you have a lot of valuable information to share.

Good luck to you.
Hopefully that kid learned a most valuable lesson when he turned the car around. A stock HP C6 is to much HP for a kid that age let alone that much extra gitty up. Hope he now realizes what hes in to.

I always hate seeing Corvette members go, but you'll be back so it's ok.

I agree, that kid better learn to drive that car and quick. The fact that he spun it out on the fwy the frist day tell a lot. I'm sure he had to go home to change his shorts after soemthing like that. Hopefully he sees it as a sign.

Good luck and congrats on your second child.

Wow. I see some of these posts about people selling their cars and I just don't know if I could do it. I am planning to have kids too soon. I think I will have to give up wine and eating out so I an keep the vette. :-)

Best of luck to you.

I hope this kid learned his lesson. He won't be so lucky next time he tries a stunt like that.

Good luck.
Next time swap the built motor into the family hauler. 500 HP in the GXP would have surprised some people.

Best of luck with the new additions to your family - the car and the baby! Well...probably not in that order...
