I installed goodridge ss brake hoses and bled the brakes. I have to say that the pedal feel is much improved over stock. Stock brade pedal felt like I was pushing my foot into a vat of jello lol. Now the pedal feels firm and much more precise.
One of my brake lines was overtitened and cross threaded from the factory, it was the rear left line. I reflared the line, but badly botched it and had to do it a second time. The fitting is not a GM fitting so I was getting a bad leak and had to strip off a bunch of the coating off the line. It looks like a hack job and it was.. doh! There is no more leak however and I took the car out tonight and the brakes felt awesome. Should I have that brake line replaced? I'm not sure that's necessary if there's no leak... thanks!
Did you have to strip some of the SS line back to get the new fitting to stop leaking..If so, hopefully the SS line is not too short..
This very reason is why I have hesitated on changing out my brake lines..Your story is a repeat I have read from many others..
The ss line goes to a bracket, so as long as the brake line from the mc is long enough to hook up to the bracket the ss line wont be any shorter. My line was still long enough to get to the bracket so in turn the ss line is actually still perfect length. I know I needed extra length due to suspension travel, but that wasnt affected.
And just to reiterate, the ss line is still perfectly intact, threads and all and is the intended length and not shorter by even an iota lol
