Sorry if this is a repost, but I purchased a used set of headers/x-pipe/catback.. But all of this came off a c6 zo6.. The problem is my car isn't a Z it's a 05 c6 a4, I had no problem installing the headers nor the x-pipe but where the tubing goes over the axles shoulders the transmission pan won't let it clear.. So what should I do sell it or put some money in fab work. Oh yeah 3 inch piping!!!

The inlet side of the Z06 mufflers is already at 2.5" so you aren't losing much if you use your C6 2.5" pipes from the mid pipe to the muffler.

3" to 2.5" adapter at the end of the midpipe and your 2.5" overaxle pipes to the Z06 muffflers.

Or split the 3" midpipe someplace and replace the back of it with your 2.5" midpipe and then your 2.5" overaxle pipes to the Z06 mufflers.

I'm not sure if this makes any difference but the headers a lt dynatech, xpipe is borla, and catback is borla stingers.. I just feel like the x pipe is too long. I wonder if borla sells 3 inch over axle pipes for an auto... Oh yeah all my stock is in pieces so using any of my old stuff is a negative but thanks for your quick responce!!!

Sorry, I thought you were installing a stock Z06 exhaust in your '05 A4. From previous posts over the last few years I would say that you'll need 2.5" overaxle pipes to clear the A4.
