Default Halltech Bee Hive question !!!!!!

Hey Folks:

I just purchased a bee hive for my halltech venom. (C6)
Has anybody installed this unit without cutting the shroud..
I really don't want to cut into the car.
I know from reading that the Z06 has an air duct that feeds the filter.
Can you add this duct to a C6 with no cutting ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Frank

I have the Beehive, but also have the Vette-air. If you do not want to cut the shroud, why not just prop it open with toggle bolts..That way you can go back to 100% stock if you wish..

Hey Scooter:

Thanks for the tip...
I think I will try it without and see what she does.

The toggle bolt method allows you to pop the shroud up in the front without cutting....pretty neat.

Thanks again...

Boy of boy......You just gotta love the forum....

One of our guys cut two pieces of pvc pipes with little slots so the didnt move and stuffed em in between the shroud and the front piece of the car so the cold air would come in with out cutting it.

If you install a Beehive, you need to let air into the "box" that it creates somehow. Cutting the shroud is not a big deal, just take your time & use the template as a guide.

I added the Vette-Air, it works great.

Using the toggle bolts is not a bad idea, however, you negate the need for air speed/velocity.

The Vette-Air scoop tucks nicely behind your grill mesh and it sits high enough where water is hardly ever an issue. In fact, after almost 4 years of servicing the vette community, we have not had any water issues or complaints from our customers.

The toggle options also introduces more dirt/dust into your engine bay and water splashing when get caught in a rain storm or driving through water sprinkled streets/puddles.

The toggle bolts option is obviously cheaper vs. the Vette-Air scoop, but at what risk? The VA scoop is only $125 shipped and it is made out of a very strong 3 part fiberglass material like many of the panel parts found on the vettes.

Yes, you do have to cut a slot in the shroud to install, but this the only way to get a true "ram" effect into your air filter. Remember, you want air velocity and cooler denser air.
