Default fan help

Just a quick one..I have an o5 ls2, I put a 160 stat in 6 months ago and had the fans tuned to come on at 186, I think and the car ran around 180 on the highway. This past friday I jacked the car up and installed the widebody quarters, and was worried about running the battery down, so I pulled the neg side off. It seams that the car runs warmer now(200 around town). My question is: did I reset the fan tune to stock by disconecting the battery or am I crazy???

I don't think changing the battery will change your tune back to stock, it has to be "reprogrammed"

You can check it by waiting until the car is cold, leave the hood open & let it idle... even sitting in the drivers seat you will be able to "HEAR" the fan turn on.. just check the DIC (have it set to engine Temp.

It should turn on the fan app 190 deg. My car has a complete "Tune" and I replaced the battery, and the tune never changed at all...

JFYI I have a 160 T State.. and if I'm on an interstate 70 mph outside temp 70 - 75 deg my engine temp will be app 176- 180 deg.. however if I pull off into a gas station and turn off the engine or let idle it will go UP to 190 - 195 until the fans go on to bring it back down to 175-178

I also have a manual fan switch to run the fan on Hi or Low even with the engine OFF (helps when I'm at the dragstrip)

No. Pulling the battery will not reset the tune. 200 in town would not be uncommon even with the 160 and fan tune. Without the 160 and tune you probably would have been 220+.
