Default Header question

So, I am pretty ignorant when it comes to car parts and brands, especially for Corvettes since I am a new owner. But I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on headers. I currently have a 2005 manual C6 with Vararam intake and NPP exhaust. I am trying to think of what my next mod should be and have been told headers by most, cam by few, and just wanted to see what yall thought. Thanks

I had headers on my C6. Headers help the car breathe better. I would do headers first and then cam or both at once. Because you will need a tune to get max benefit.

I was told that rear end gears are the best bang for the buck.

headers were a great first mod that lets your car breath better and flow better through to the exhaust. Most any other later upgrades will utilize this better breathing anyway/also. Can't really go wrong. there are lots of threads on which is better/give more HP/Tq, etc. but don't believe any of the bad stuff you hear: no the clearance wasnt affected, no it isnt hotter inside the car, yes you can hear the engine more but no it isn't obnoxious or overwhelming.

Headers with a tune can get you approx 30rwhp. Texas speed has a good deal on headers with an offroad x-pipe. I priced them and they were $850 shipped to my door. Thats with gaskets and everything.

Like stated above, let the engine (basically an air pump) breath in and out better for increased efficiency and performance!

Our ceramic coated Texas Speed 1 7/8" headers and X-pipe linked to above are a great bang for the buck setup that will help with the power side of the equation, and give you some of that better sound people tend to like in their vehicles

Let us know if we can help!

Other than nitrous or slicks, there probably is not a better performance per $ gain than a good set of headers and a tune.

You will find a lot of topics and disscussions about this, and I would be more than happy to answer any questions at all you would have about any one of our lines of headers. Make sure when you look around you compare apples to apples. A lot just supply headers, some supply more. We try to make it as easy as possible by giving you the entire system, engine to mufflers with all clamps and wires needed.

We also have a number of specials going on right now on all of our Street, Pro, and Super Pro headers!

Since you only are in the upper RPM for short periods at a time make sure the headers you choose make the most power (torque) possible under the curve where you drive most. 2000- 4500rpm is where they should gain the most. If over sized tubes are used then the only real gains will be in areas you don't drive in unless you are racing all the time.
