With all read on here about Scs being the cure-all, I was surprised that it wasn't thier first thoughts as well. Not that its wrong, but I was the one surprised. They're the pro's, I'm not. When I put this in terms of what I've usually done for my bikes, those are first steps and the ones that are best bang for the buck and still very safe and durable, hi-flow airfilter, cam, and free-flowing exhaust. I don't run straight pipes, though on the proper bike they sound great. I do run a 2:1 w/muffler but it's not a restrictive system like stock.

That is basically what they suggested for the car. Before I engage you, I will take greenman up on his offer and possibly someone with a centrifuge to ensure I undertand the significance of these two different units and how it differs from NA. My 96 Dodge Cummins truck is turbo and I don't notice anything shocking unless I blow the hose off during hard acceleration then notice how much power is provided by the turbo's addition.

When you're ready for a ride, let me know and I'll put you in touch with someone or someones. We have a procharged C6Z we just finished. I'm sure the owner wouldn't mind taking you for a spin.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to call, PM, email, whatever. We'll take the time and try and answer best we can.

yes Ive been in there and almost had you guys tune my vette. but after 4 times of not getting call backs from you. I went elsewhere and then I talked to a close friend of mine that had his car there to get a new engine which you guys messed up 3 times and never got it right. I could go on and on about your shop. and personaly I trust the word of your customers.

BTW to the OP, who did you talk to? If you'd like you can PM me, or email @ edcmat-l1@msn.com.

To lockman, have you ever been in here? If not, how about stopping in and I'll personally give you a tour of the place. We're very qualified, and extremely well equipped. We have some of the fastest engines and cars in the country to our credit. I've personally been to Europe 3 times to tune Vettes. I've traveled up and down the coast tuning. I've built engines for customers in Germany and the UK. So, before passing judgement on other people's words, how bout comin in and seeing for yourself?

I'm sure if you talked to enough of them, the majority would have good things to say. I don't think they (Va Speed) would have been in business this long (6 years) if everyone was being ripped off.

No matter what business, there will always be unhappy customers.

I won't have anytime for at least three or four weeks, maybe we should meet at VA Speed. I could pick Ed's brain for my planned spring mods.

No rush. I move slowly to try and save mistakes from occuring. I like to explore before moving into something. Got to wiegh the pros and cons and see what Daddy has to say. If He doesn't build the house, it's for naught.

Since you just installed a blower I'm guessing its not enough power for you. What's the next step for you, jet engine from a 747?

No jet engine.

Planning on fuel pump upgrade, stronger tranny with torque converter and beefed up diff with 3.42's.

Jet engine doesn't sound all bad though.

LOL I've always wanted to take the engine out of the Navy's T-2 training jet and put it in a VW. Physically it'd fit. Getting it mounted right might be a little difficult. Tailgaters would learn the hard way when their nose fascia melted off.

I read a few posts on here about the electrical draw of a secondary pump causing the primary (stock) pump to burn out early. Have you read those posts?

That is suprising. Ed from Hp Factory works there now and did my A&A kit last winter. My 99 gained 230rwhp at 7psi with h20/meth. Car runs GREAT with NO ISSUES. Idles around like stock and gets 29mpg on the highway. Considering the sales are right now on blowers I don't think you can beat the $/hp. Plus the nice stock driveability. I just purchased a Lingenfelter 542ci Viper and after 1 day decided to sell it because i can't stand how poorly it drove at part throttle compared to my Roe Supercharged viper which drives like stock till u get into boost. I like boost, plus you can take the kit off and get good money if you want to sell your car.

Their rec for my LS2 was Kooks headers with cross over pipe, hi-flow cats, I already have Magnaflow exhaust, cam, Behive intake, and tune.

Are those mods really worth the cost, which will be over $4k. There thoughts are my RWHp is around 377. With the intake, cam, headers, and tune, I should see ... dern! I forget what he said to expect. Drats! Seems like one time he said 470 then a few minutes later said 420, maybe 450.

Cam would be custom ground to my specs as to where I want the power to come on and how much driveability I'm willing to sacrifice.

Thoughts? Advice?
John

Yes, most of the time it is because they are using the original pump wire and it isn't big enough for the amperage draw. Right now I have a MSD boost a pump that came with my SC kit but I don't trust it. When I upgrade the drive train I will upgrade the fuel pump the same time.

Ed,

Did you get a chance to post the numbers for the C6Z?

No, but I will. It made 597 on 4 pounds of boost. Pretty sick when you think about the potential of it.

Ideally, you'd want to run hot wire kits for BOTH pumps. And run the second pump on a hobs switch. That's cures the wiring issues common with the dual pumps.

Only 4 pounds, plenty of room for more power, very cool.
