I'm thinking about trading my 08 Z51 tword a Z06. Because I do all my own oil changes etc...I was wondering, is the dry sump system any more difficult to change oil compared to my 08 C6? Thanks in advance.

There are two drain plugs and more oil. That's it.
Great photos, but I was wondering ..having a ramp system you would avoid all the unnecessary labor. I drive mine up and everything is ready to change. Less work and time.

Like AFVETTE said two drain plugs roughly 6 inchs apart.
will add 6 seconds to the oil change

The Z06 like my new GS, does it not have also the following:
10.5 quarts of oil
and oil level needs to be checked at the reservoir hot and while engine is running?
Also use heavy duty filter which tolerates higher pressure--and costs more?
Just asking..........Bob
Little more effort but that's it. With the LS2 and LS3 engines in my care, I can reach the single drain plug and filter from behind the left front wheel. With the LS7, I access the second front plug by also crawling under the car from the front which is a little more effort than the first plug/filter access.

Oil is checked at the reservoir when up to temperature but per the owner's manual it is done between 5 and 20 minutes after the engine is stopped.
