Default 243 heads? small cam?

i have a ls2 a6 and was wondering if i ported the stock heads would it be worth it? i have headers and coldair intake, but i wanted to do a cam that would work with stock stall. i plan on ported fast and ported heads and cam over the winter with out a stall how much hp should i make, and what cam should i run? HELP!!!!!!!!

Alot of people using ported 243's with small cams and getting good #'s. Sure some will post up.

Definately worth it. Mill the heads, go with a thinner head gasket and bump up the compression.

I have a 224/228 cam with 243s ported and milled with a ported FAST and ended up with 443/420.

Yep works fine. It's a pretty mild cam. I don't have a stall but maybe someday I may bump it up but it's definately not nessasary.

small cam here on stock heads 2007 ls2 ran 11.3 @ 122 1.6 60 foot on dr's
Ported FAST, ported TB, LG LT headers, vararam intake, cam, corsa sport... Six speed manual

Me too: 224/228 0.595" cam, ported and milled 243 heads w/ Cometic gaskets, ported FAST, headers. With 3.42 gears (MN6) it turns 441 RWHP, 412 RWTQ. With some tuning it idles nicely and behaves well in traffic, too.

We use our Stinger 224/232 113 Cam in a lot of cars without a stall. It works out very well and makes a ton of torque down low with a very nice power gain up top.
