This may not apply in your case ('05 C6) but I had a 2001 coupe with no cruise control. The GM tech found a bent pin in the wire harness. The repair was under warranty. Good luck with yours.
Interesting.
The experience of you guys are awsome !
Today I had no cruise control. I checked the fuse (No.17 or 18 cant remember) but it is okay. I will check the break padel tomorrow.
I tried the brake handle today then took it out for a spin, tried hoding up the brake pedal while trying to engage the cruise control and still no luck....
I could not get the cruise control on my 05 M6 to engage today, any clues?
Another possibility is the switch on the clutch pedal.
When you're not pressing the clutch pedal, the arm presses a push button. If the button is not adequately pressed in cruise control will not engage. It doesn't seem to take much.
I added a 0.5-1mm shim on much clutch arm to keep it pressed. I don't use cruise control, but because the switch was "malfunctioning" (not pressed fully) a check engine light came on.
Onstar diagnostics informed me it was a cruise control malfunction, not critical, should be looked at.
Another thing to try is just disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for a couple of minutes to see if it will reset it self. I did that and it fixed that problem for my '07 and it hasn't resurfaced for over a year now. Good luck!!
