My service advisor and his "#1" Corvette engine mech both say it is normal and that it is a very mild piston slap. I've read about it here and everyone seems to think it is normal and a non-issue. I presume that if it gets louder or doesn't stop after warm that it then is an issue. Funny though, I don't remember hearing it during the 1st 2 years of driving it. Hmmm
injectors are pretty loud, thats what the FRC's where suppose to help. Most noise you might be hearing is the valve train. Warmer the quieter
I am having similar problem with my Lingenfelter engine, 'cept it clicks louder when warmer. Sounds like a single valve tapping. I have posted this on a separate thread, but the topic is similar.
I have the same thing seems to do it from 1800 to 2600 rpm give or take. dealer keeps on blowing me off since themes no codes coming up. I keep saying its mechanical not electronic. They go as far as saying they don’t hear it like I’m an ***. i mean you can miss it! if it is piston slap, then what’s the resolution? I have a bunch of mods I want to do but want to get this cleared up first.
