Default C6 Header Questions

I have tried looking through all the posts on the forum but keeping running in circles. Could anyone provide a quick run down of headers...so far I have been looking at American Racing, Kooks, LG, and OBX, but really know nothing about any of them other than people seem to place American Racing and Kooks over the other 2. Also I do not plan to do any other mods past this, so would 1 3/4 be what Im looking for, and finally whats the difference between catted and non-catted (other than one has the cats and the other does not) Thanks in advance.

You've been confused by reading through header threads eh? Get ready for even more confusion.

Any of the top names you mentioned are good products and will give a nice kick in HP.

Never heard of OBX myself.

I went with the Kooks 1 7/8 great HP gain and sound. Check your state laws about your need for emissions. I run straight exhaust with no cats mufflers, ect. Out in Nevada the state does an emissions test by connecting a computer to your cars ECU, so by reprogramming the cars computer you can fool the test.

You will get many opinions. A few will even have facts to back up what they say.

I have B&B and I bought them for all the wrong reasons, but I would buy them again.

look at this thread.

all of those systems seem to have great results and responses from members (dont know about obx?) but remember that whatever a guy has on his ride is the best in his mind. Some are higher then others and there are good reasons for that (quality, material, fitment, performance etc..) I would go with ARH, kooks or LG and would get the 1 7/8 header size. You might spend another 3-4 hundred t oget the bigger size or better brand but you wont regret it. good luck and I know where your comin from, i just put some on my car last week (see thred link below) paul

Take a look at JW@JWMotoring.com Titanium Headers in the C6 Parts for Sale section, if your looking for good quality headers at a very good price.
