Hi guys, I'm looking for a little help in finding the exact parts I need to order. I changed the oil and oil filters on my '08 Vette when it hit around 7000 miles but I didn't change the air filter and polen filters yet.
The car is now just under 9000 miles. I want to order the parts in advance, since I need to have them shipped to Romania, so it might take a while. I had a look on a seller's website (Ecklers) , which I used before to order an exhaust system, but I'm not quite sure which parts I should order.
If anyone can help me out with the exact parts name, or links or anything, I'd really appreciate it.
At 9000 miles, I would be surprised if you really need to change these air filters. In normal environments, the engine air filter should be good for at least 30,000 miles. The cabin air filter is very easy to remove and inspect. At 30,000 miles, I simply used a shop vacuum to clean my cabin air filter and reinstall. I did replace the engine air filter at 30k since the power core design used on the LS3 and LS7 engines is difficult to inspect and assess its cleanliness condition.
Your car takes a ACDelco A3077C (GM part # 15776148)for the engine air filter and a ACDelco CF139 (GM part # 15848592) for the cabin filter. Also, you can use a WIX 24480, Purolator C25623 or a BOSCH C3722 for your cabin filter.
Thanks Gold72, I will probably take your advice and change it later, maybe when I get close to 20k miles. My mechanic told me I should change the air filter more often because we get a lot more dust here in our obscure little country than you guys get in the USA
You might want to consider putting in K&N air filters. There is a K&N cold air intake, but I just did the filters in the stock shrouds (LS2 - took 2 filters). Now when the filter gets dirty, or your mechanic thinks they are dirty, you only wash them, dry them, then reoil them and you are back in business. Also they are suppose to catch dirt really well, and flow air better.
