If the car sits moore than 3-4 days it wont start.
Took the car to check the alter. and the battery. They told me that everything is fine. But i still have problems to get my car to start after sitting for couple of days.
The battery is optima red top.
Can i use Batery tender while the car sits for long time or i have to pull the battery of the car and then hook it up to the battery teder.Which way is safe left in the car or pull the battery out.
Is it posible that the battery does not hold charge.
I know that all the new corvettes have battery drain problem.
I called the local GM dealer and that is what they told me.It has to do with all the camputers and sensors on the car
Can somebody know what is going on or i have been told all kinds of lies. MY altern. is working and my battery takes charge. I hate to buy new battery and throw this optima.

You can test how much current is being drained from you battery.
Disconnect your negative cable. Connect a digital multi-meter to the battery terminal and the negative cable then check the amperage draw. If its more than 1 amp, something is "on". I don't remember the exact normal amp it should draw parked but someone out there can give it to you.
Check for lights bulbs in the various locations. If nothing is apparent, you have to start pulling fuses to narrow down where to look. When you pull a fuse, you should see the amp draw drop significantly.
you did'nt say what year car, an 05 has certain things you need to do when parked and ALL new corvette's don't have this problem. I have an 06 and have not had any battery related problems, I have left the car sitting for 3 weeks and starts! optima batteries are not all there cracked up to be, IMHO I think they require some special charging too...
For '05's with manual trans, shut down needs to be with the trans in Reverse....otherwise some of the electrical systems don't shut down, resultinig in a discharged battery. That problem was fixed for '06 on, but if you have an early '06 (& MN6) it may not have the design change. As for your question of leaving a tender hooked up with the battery in the vehicle, that's not a problem. They are designed to work that way.....a true tender, not a charger. The larger question is what is causing the battery drain. Earlier post was correct, i.e. you need to messure the drain with a good ammeter & then figure out which circuit is causing the drain (by pulling fuses). Good luck!
