Stock pistons 4.065" and the pistons would depend on the finish hone you do.

Judging from your questions, I suspect you havent dont this before and if you are paying to get it done, have the engine builder source the parts so he is responsible for both parts and labor.

I'd say a new shop too! Wouldn't you Spin! Is this a cam change gone bad?

is the piston damaged because by installing a camshaft with huge lift and not checking the piston to valve clearance?

please specify what is the purpose of the vehicle and will there be any power adders.

if your going to daily drive the car with no power adder, it wont be a good idea to put forged pistons as they wear out faster than cast pistons due to less silicone and extra clearance. Not to mention you need to re-balance the rotating assembly as the weight of the piston will be different. Even if you were to install forged pistons for this setup i would recommend the 4032 forging as they dont wear as much as the 2618 alloy

If you going nitrous or FI than forged pistons is a good idea as it will take more beating and will handle detonation.

thanks

actually, i resone for the piston cracking is not clear. but from what happened we suspected that the reson is the clearence. the cam i added is a tested cam (G6X3) and had no issue with other owners as i red in many threades, when i got it on my car i got this problem ( i cant say they sent me the wrong cam cuz i am not sure), but i am going with a forged piston so if this was the problem i wnt face it again with the forged pistons.

if it was a clearance issue than it has nothing to do with the stock or forged pistons. To prevent the problem of a piston cracking just make sure P to V clearance.

The forged piston is better than cast in handling more beating, detonation and knock. If your car has none of these issues i would say go the cast pistons. Its your preference in the end of the day.

P to V clearance depends on what??? isn't it on the cam lifting? cuz as a stock car the car is so fine even with a smaller cam it was ok?

i appreciate your help
