Default Tie Rod Ends

So I melted my tie rod end boots again. So I am thinking of going with some HD tie rod ends or a bump steer kit. But I seem to running into alot of websites that only list tie rod ends for C5s. Does any one know if the C5 parts will fit on a 2005 C6 (Z51 if it makes a difference)?

Just an example of my confusion, one website lists tie rod ends as working on '97 - '06 cars in their C5 section, but don't have the tie rods listed at all in the C6 section. Hopefully, someone can shed some light on this, before I call and make a fool of myself....

you've got at least 3 or so tuner shops here that race their cars; why not call and ask their opinion on what to use?

Actually, that PDF answered my question. It seems like C5 and C6 ends are the same.

The C6 Z51, Z06 and GS rear tie rod ends are greasable and are different from the base C6 and C5 ends.

The brakes melt/burn the tie rod end boots.

You can reduce the burning by wrapping them in Thermo Tek exhaust heat wrap or by making some shields. I used some old soup cans to build heat shields for all 4 tie rod ends and installed them over the exhaust heat wrap I had wrapped around the boots.

If you put StopTech brakes on you have to grind part of the tie rod end off to clear the rotor.
