Well I FINALLY did it - 9.950@139.267 with a 1.425 60ft!
After four separate trips to the track and continually getting closer, I finally made it into the 9's and on the very last run of the day too.
In addition to being the fastest I've ever run, it's also my best ever 60ft time and not only can I lay claim to being the fastest N/A car on both the C6 and Z06 fast lists, I'm pretty sure I'm the first and only person running 9's with an A6 including all turbo, blower and nitrous cars.
For a while I thought I was going to go home empty handed again (I ran 3 10.02's and a 10.018) but with 30 mins left in the day the sun came out long enough to warm up the track and help get me there.
With the stall converter I typically launch at around 1300RPM but after running the 10.018 on my second last pass, I hotlapped it after Rich (RichieRichZ06) said that I was dead hooking and suggested to my son I should try launching at a higher RPM. I think I left at 1800RPM on the final pass and my 60ft definitely reflected that.
Here's my full list of mods and/or otherwise stock equipment:
Also, I weigh about 210lbs, I had approx. 1.5 gallons of gas in the car at the time and also removed the passenger seat for additional weight savings.
As fun as it all was though it's kinda bittersweet as I promised my wife I would slow the car down after hitting the 9's as I have no interest in putting a full cage in the car. Although I'll continue to race the car I'll probably slow it down so that it'll run 10.3's in order to keep my trap speed under 135MPH.
Thanks for looking,
Christopher

It was a fun journey homey and you did it. Welcome to the Lucifer 9sec family.
As stated in the past, all of our Lucifer cam racers are "nine" second ballers and now you're Da man!
Want to hear something scary? If you were in Atco, MIR or Route 66 (Chicago) and all being equal, you would have gone a bit faster and perhaps with an extra 1.2mph.
Okay, if you like, I can talk to your wife for you; I would like to show you what would happen if you installed a simple 75 to 100 shot Then you'll see why my car is deadly to my opponents...think about it over Xmas
Thanks for all your support and again, congrats
Carlos

Congrats Christopher, apparently it was a very good week for NA C6s...Dennis ran a 10.5 in his cam only LS2, Mike and Andrew ran 10.6s in their heads and cam LS2s, I put a bolt ons only A6 car into the 10s for the first time ever, just yesterday Gary ran a 10.1 in his bolt ons only Z06 and now you're in the 9s.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, C6s rule!

He was apparently having some traction problems as it was ("the day the sun came out long enough to warm up the track and help get me there"), what kind of challenges do you suppose he would've faced in ultra cold/windy 30 degree temps?
I run at Atco regularly. I ran there 3 times in just the last 6 weeks alone and (on paper) based on the air/DA changes from one visit to another I should've been able to easily pick up 3/10ths and 3mph, but I didn't.
Saying "I would run xx.xx@xxx.xx at this track" or "if I ran xx.xx@xxx.xx in this air, just imagine what I'd do in that air" is one thing.
Actually doing it is something else entirely.
In life there are no guarantees.
But the bottom line is, I don't care what track it was at, 9s NA is fast regardless, great job guys.

Since my last PB thread got locked after getting way off topic, could we please not have that happen again with another Atco vs. Sacramento debate or any other type of argument?
I'd really appreciate it guys.
Thanks,
Christopher

Well with 12"+ of snow on the ground, I think we'd all take Sacramento right about now!
No but really, congratulations on your new best! I know you have been working your a$$ off and to finally get it is a great feat in itself. Now relaxe and let us catch up!

But I will mention this, I'm from Chicago now living in Dallas and I can tell you that racing in Texas is not quite the same as racing in IL...all being equal, my car always ran faster in Chitown
Back during my Fun Ford Weekend racing days, we ran faster times at tracks such as Milan, Route66, Atco and MRI...never too well in Cali or Vegas [the air sucks] and for that matter it is the reason why I said what I mentioned above.
And yes, 9's is 9's no matter how you slice it. Congrats again Christopher
Thanks,
Carlos
